Road users urged to take part in safety survey
Identifying priority issues and opportunities on our local road network is the aim of a new community survey, which people are being urged to take part in.
The survey, which is open from 14 August until 8 September, is being headed by the Industry Road Safety Alliance South West.
The Alliance is a collaborative group taking in industry, community, local and state government in the area stretching from the major population areas of Greater Bunbury and Pinjarra across to the industry hubs of Collie and Boddington.
“Our Alliances aims to manage and mitigate road safety risks associated with industry traffic across
this area and in doing so improve safety for all road users,” Alliance acting chairperson Brett Lowcock said.
“To help us do that, we need the input of people who use these roads on a regularly basis and therefore experience first-hand where the greatest issues and opportunities are.”
The survey is being distributed to the workforces of the Alliance’s 16 members, which are six resources, energy or grain companies; two heavy transport operators; four local government players; and four state government agencies.
People who live in the area covered by the Alliance are also urged to take part in the survey, which can be accessed via the Alliance’s Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/IRSASW/ from Monday, 14 August.
Everyone who completes the survey by 8 September will go into a draw to win $250.
“We all have a role to play in making our road safe,” Mr Lowcock said. “Please play your role by filling in the survey and helping us identify priority issues and opportunities.”
